Nov 26th 2004 : Second version. Critical bugs were corrected. See the changelog or download it
Nov 19th 2004 : The first beta version has been released. Adjustment module is now functionnal. See the changelog or download it. This project will remain in beta state until one year after the last bug correction. Now if you are interested by this project, please test and report bugs/corrections/improvments. Thanks to all.

Nov 12th 2004 : The first alpha of the second version has been released. It is available here. Still needs to correct little bugs but the main solver seems to work.
Nov 9th 2004 : Due to problems with coasts handling and a lot of bugs, I decided to rewrite the adjucator software in Python. The Diplojuge project will be now considered as a toolkit. The solver is now called Pyplojuge and seems to work well on solving orders. I still have to implement retreats and adjustments. It will also support native International messages module. One of the most important improvements is the multiple paths convoys support which makes Pyplojuge fully compliant with the official rules.
Apr 4th 2004 : I am proud to announce that the first stable version is now available ! I am now waiting for your feedback, an english version will be available soon.
Feb 10th 2004 : The eighth beta version is released with good stuff : command line options and definitive output modules support
Feb 1st 2004 : The seventh beta release is ready. Mostly code clean up but added contribs ;)
Jan 27th 2004 : Due to an attack on Tuxfamily, the cvs, http and ftp are closed.

What is diplojuge ?
Diplojuge is a project which should make it possible to automate all the actions of a judge of Diplomacy. Contrary to certain existing programs, we wanted it modular and usable simply, on command line.
The Diplojuge toolkit is composed of several softwares :

Pyplojuge : The solver. This soft solves orders, retreats and adjustments and dumps the now positions out.
Tirosort : The color selecter. This soft gives each player a color according to their list of choices.
Diplocarte : The postscript map generator (Written by Eric Brunet from a previous work by Wiliam Roberts).

This project is distributed under the terms of the General Public License. You are free to use the program, to read the sources, to distribute or modify the program. You do not have the right to place fragments or the totality of the code under another licence.

The board definition file (plateau) uses the following format (Examples are from the english board):
- Par(T)*FR:Bre,Pic,Bur,Gas
- Gas(C):Mid,Bre,Par,Bur,Mar,Spa.nc
- The first three letters are the localisation, the letter between parentheses is the type (Terre (Land), Mer (Sea), Côte (Coast))
- The * is used to indicate if there is a center in this location.
- The optional letters following the star indicate if the center belongs to one of the players at begining.
- The localizations placed after : are the adjacent localizations.
- Locations with coasts must be declared as normal location with all proximities then coasts declarations. Example :
  - Bul(C)*:Gre,Ser,Rum,Con,Bla,Aeg
  - Bul.ec(C):Rum,Bla,Con
  - Bul.sc(C):Aeg,Gre,Con
- Locations with national center and coasts should declare the center on the appropriate coast declaration. Example :
  - StP(C):Nwy,Fin,Mos,Liv,Bar,Bot
  - StP.nc(C):Nwy,Bar
  - StP.sc(C)*RU:Fin,Bot,Liv
The positions file should be in the following format (Examples are from the french board):
- FR:Bre(F),Par(A),Mar(A),Bre(C),Par(C),Mar(C)
- The first 2 letters are the identifiers of the country, they can be selected arbitrarily, essence is that orders and board correspond.
- The different units' localizations are placed after with their types (Army, Fleet, Center)
- One country per line.
The orders file will have to be nearly like a standard Diplomacy orders sheet (Examples are from the french board):
- 1 order by line prefixing it with the country that gives the order
- Moves
  - FR:A Par - Bre Paris' french army goes/attacks Brest.
  - UK:F Man xxx The British fleet in Manche does not move (This is the default if no order is given)
- Supports
  - GE:A Mun - Bou may be supported by A Ruh S A Mun - Bou
  - When supported, a unit which convoys or supports is noted like defending.
  - ex : the russian army in Roumania RU:A Rou S A Ser - Bud may be supported byRU:F Noi S A Rou xxx
- Convoys
- RU:A Seb - Ank The Sebastopol army goes/attacks Ankara via Black Sea.
- This order must be accompanied byF Noi C A Seb - Ank
- AH:A Gre - Ven needs multiple convoying:
- AH:F Ion C A Gre - Ven
- AH:F Adr C A Gre - Ven. The armies can be convoyed by fleets from different countries.
- Multiple paths convoys are now supported. Example :
  - IT:A Naf - Esp
  - EN:F AtM C A Naf - Esp
  - IT:F MOc C A Naf - Esp
  - The convoy is broken only if both F AtM and F MOc are dislodged.
Retreats
- GE:- A Pru The Kaiser disbands his prussian army (which is the default if no order is given to retreating units)
- IT:A Tyr r Ven The Italian King retreats its Tyr army in Ven.
Adjustments
- RU:+ F StP.cs The Tsar builds a new fleet in StP.cs.
- FR:- A Ruh The French disbands its Ruhr army.
